Founded on 3rd September 2000 by Mr. Dilu Das , Netaji Chatra Yuba Sangstha emerged as a beacon of hope and empowerment for communities across Assam, Tripura, and the Barak Valley. Rooted in the visionary ideals of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose , the organization was established with a strong belief in youth driven social transformation and the power of collective action. Since its inception, NCYS has worked tirelessly to build a just and inclusive society where every individual especially children, youth, and marginalized groups can access quality education, healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, cultural enrichment , and holistic development . Over the years, NCYS has undertaken numerous initiatives focusing on education, health, road safety, youth empowerment, socio-economic upliftment, renewable energy , and disaster relief , ensuring tangible and lasting impact at the grassroots level. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Regd. No.: RS-/CA/243/F/116 of 2008), NCYS also holds an NGO Darpan Unique ID: AS/2020/0268073 under the NITI Aayog, Government of India . With its registered office at Durgapally Uttarkrishnapur Part - III, Silchar - 6, Cachar (Assam) and head office at Camp, Chatla Road, Near Ramkrishna Mission, Silchar - 788011, the organization continues to expand its reach and strengthen its commitment to community welfare.

NCYS operates with 22 dedicated staff members and a large pool of youth volunteers. The team includes administrative personnel, medical professionals, counselors, and field workers, all working together to deliver health, education, and emergency services.
